New rumours suggest that Final Fantasy XV will be announced at E3 2012 during a special Square Enix press conference. The surprising news? FFXV is apparently going multiplatform, seeing a release on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC and even Wii U.

E3 2012 kicks off on June 5. The press conference, which may be held before or after the starting date, is purported to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Final Fantasy.

The information comes from issue 247 of GamesMaster UK, which is due out on January 3, 2012. At that point, we'll be able to get our hands on the article. In the mean time, if anyone has an advance copy of the issue, feel free to help us out with a scan.

No word from Square Enix whether the rumour is true or not. However, common sense says that GamesMaster made it up, but it's still probably going to happen.
